SNOW DAY!

Today is a now day which means school is closed and we got to stay home.

Theo helped Bunka move all the snow off the top deck of the house as it was pretty heavy and could cause damage.

Cohen got dressed and went out to play with his friend Seamus.

Then both boys and Filo went to their school with Seamus and his brothers to toboggan down the hill in front of their school. When they came home they had to get changed right away because their clothes were soaked.

Madeline slept in. She does that a lot! It is still snowing right now. I think they are hoping for another snow day tomorrow!

I drank coffee and did the laundry. Snow is pretty - especially looking out at it...not being cold in it! haha!

Leave us a comment and let us know what you're doing.

Air Force Beach Photos

Comox is home to a base of the Royal Canadian Air Force. We always see planes and para gliders doing their practise runs. In May, The Snowbirds will be putting on an airshow. I can remember seeing them when I was a little girl.
Here is a link that tells you more about them.

We enjoyed our walk along Air Force Beach looking in rock pools, finding bits of crabs scattered along the sand where the birds have dropped them after eating...and the hunt for wild rabbits. We saw a few but they're pretty fast!

Air Force Beach

Today I tried to make a fire on the beach in a metal circle. I climbed up a ginormous hill and I put a stick into the ground. I held onto it when I slipped.
I was looking at a bunny in the grass. I saw lots of crab shells too. Theo smashed one. There was nothing in it. The birds had already eaten the crab.

Puzzles on a Rainy Day

I made this puzzle and it had 30 pieces.
My next puzzle is a hockey puzzle and it has 300 pieces.
I love doing puzzles but they are hard too.

Happy Love Day

February 14th, 2014.
Everyday should be love day. Today marks the day we buy everything red, pink, smells nice or is chocolate. LOL! It's also the day that Madeline, Theo and Cohen participated in Valentines Day, Canadian style!

They exchanged cards and lollies(candy)in their class and made envelopes to bring them home.

It was great that they got to experience this holiday in a different way. Part of the reason we are on this journey.

So. Happy Love Day family and friends.

SNOW...FINALLY!!!!

Snow in Comox is not normal. I mean. It does happen, but not in February...and not usually like this! The kids woke up to big, fluffy flakes, falling from the sky! There were so many flakes that you could hardly see out the window. The snow was soft. It landed in perfect position and waited for another flake to land next to it to make a pattern of the snow covered quilt that is now draping the former green lawn.
Just yesterday, robins were pecking the grass looking for Spring seeds...today they are away, again, in hiding...waiting for the blanket of white to melt away.

My Dad, the kids Bunka, went out early to the shop to buy a toboggan.  We got a nice shiny red one. All the kids loved it...even the ones who were probably too big to ride on it! hahaha!

Today was also called Family Day in B.C. and the kids were off school. So all in all it was a perfect day to hang out with the family and enjoy the snow and each other.

Enjoy the photos and feel free to comment.

I bet the snow will be gone by the morning. I will take a photo and post it...I wonder...hmmmm!
